How verification works
Choose a public verification method. Agent ID independently refetches DNS or the website and does not accept browser-submitted values as proof.
DNS TXT requires access to change the domain DNS. A homepage meta tag requires access to edit the home page head. A public file requires publishing a file on the site. Platform hosting serves the approved asset on xAgent. Customer self-install keeps the file on the customer domain and stays pending until an independent refetch matches. Choosing a verification method does not choose hosting. For Shopline, 91APP, Wix, or Squarespace stores that cannot upload root files, platform hosting is recommended: verify with DNS TXT or homepage meta tag first, then request platform hosting separately; xAgent ID hosts llms.txt and agent-card.json only after that hosting request is approved.
A successful claim proves domain control only. It is not Google Agent Identity, does not authorize xAgent ID to modify the website, and does not guarantee ranking, AI citation, or conversion.
Domain verification does not grant access to another buyer's payments.
